S.P.A.C.E.:

SPACE: Supportive Parenting for Childhood Anxious Emotions

At Endora Therapy, we offer SPACE with warmth, clarity, and respect for each family’s journey. Whether you're seeking guidance for a child, teen, or young adult, this program meets you where you are and helps you move forward.

What is SPACE?

SPACE is a parent-based program designed to support families navigating anxiety, OCD, and related challenges in children, teens, and young adults.

Developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center, SPACE has been shown to be effective in clinical trials and offers a unique approach where your child, teen, or young adult does not need to participate directly in therapy. Instead, SPACE works with parents and caregivers to:
• Understand how anxiety and OCD affect the entire family system
• Learn supportive responses that reduce accommodations and foster independence
• Create clear, actionable plans to manage anxiety and promote a calmer home environment

•Offering tools to shift patterns and support growth.
• Build emotional resilience and confidence in both caregivers and children

Who is SPACE for?

SPACE is for parents of children, teens and young adults with anxiety, OCD, or related disorders.
• Caregivers seeking tools to reduce family stress and improve coping
• Families where traditional child-focused therapy hasn’t been effective or accessible

• Families seeking to find calmness and improved function

• Caregivers when children are resistant to therapy or too young to engage directly.

Which diagnoses is the SPACE program designed to support?

Some of the main anxiety related problems treated with SPACE:

• Separation anxiety

• Social anxiety

• Generalized anxiety

• Fears and phobias

• Panic disorder and Agoraphobia

• Selective mutism

• Obsessive-compulsive disorder

• Failure to Launch challenges in young adults; difficulty transitioning to independence

Who participates in SPACE?

SPACE is a unique approach to treatment.
In SPACE, your child, teen, or young adult is still considered the client, but they don’t need to attend the sessions. Instead, the work is focused on parents and caregivers. Through SPACE, you’ll learn practical strategies to reduce unhelpful accommodations and create meaningful, lasting change at home.

Even though children aren’t in the sessions, they remain at the center of the treatment. When SPACE is effective, children experience less anxiety and show improved functioning in daily life.
